CAN CH/UKC CH/MBISS AM GCHB Potterdale Jubilee Diamond AXJ NA OF RE PT PCD BN NW1 MV
(UKCH Potterdale Pure Platinum x UKCH Sengalas Indiana Jones, DOB: 12/04/12)
Bred by Mike and Janet Lewis of Potterdale Bearded Collies out of their beautiful Molly to Nick and Angela May’s amazing Indy, Scarlett made the journey “across the pond” at a little over 8 weeks old with her sister, Peekaboo. She arrived home in the States just in time to see the Ravens win the SuperBowl in 2013. She’s been a joy to have ever since. Willing to try anything, a great show puppy, an attentive obedience partner, and an excellent herding dog, Scarlett accomplished so much before the age of a year old. She made her conformation debut as a 4-6 month puppy in UKC and took Best Puppy in Show all three shows she was entered in April 2013. She then took a Herding Group 2 from the 4-6 month class at the Ladies Dog Club show in Massachusetts (part of the BCCME regional show weekend). When she finally got to join the big dogs in regular classes she collected her first major and her first point in the same weekend. She’s a bit of a wiggle worm on the exam, but her joy is contagious and her movement can’t be denied. She’s also been recognized with Puppy Group 2 and Group 3 in AKC. Her performance career started, when she got her Rally Novice title in November 2013 and then her Herding Title (HT) , just a few weeks after turning a year old.
Returning to the show ring after a long hiatus at the NCBCC regional specialty show in April 2014, Scarlett was WB/BOW/BOS for a 5 pt major under breeder-judge, Sue Nicholls-Ward. Following that up, she got another 4pt major going WB/BOW at the Sunday BCKC Supported entry show under breeder-judge, Gail Miller-Bisher. Scarlett returned to the show ring a few times at specialties over the summer of 2014, including winning Best in Sweeps at the Maine Club’s regional specialty show, and a trip to the great white north for the Canadian National Specialty show. It was our first time at the event, and what a great trip it was! Scarlett came away with 2 Novice Rally legs and Reserve Winners Bitch at the National! She wrapped up her week in Canada with Best of Winners and Best of Opposite for 3 points in her first Canadian All-breed show. We will definitely be back… have to get that last Rally Novice leg. To finish out her AKC Championship, Scarlett won a lovely Open Bitch class and then took Winners and Best of Winners at the BCCA National Specialty show in October 2014, under breeder-judge Kathy Pavlich. Also at the 2014 National Specialty, Scarlett won her Open Jumpers agility class and placed 3rd in Rally Excellent A. She was one of 10 dogs to compete for the CHIP versatility award for competing in at least 3 events
Scarlett loves to show as a “Special” and we made our first trip to Westminster in 2015. She had a ton of fun in the city and at the show, and we will definitely be back. Returning to the NCBCC Specialty Show in April 2015, Scarlett was awarded Best of Breed (BISS), thank you to breeder-judge Yvonne Fox (Bushblades). We’re quite pleased with this win, as it also gave Scarlett her Grand Championship. Just a week later, we went to the Myrtle Beach shows and were awarded Owner Handled Best in Show!
When not in the conformation ring, Scarlett likes to do just about anything else. She’s competed in Agility, Rally, Herding, and Nosework, obtaining titles in each venue. Making her agility debut in August 2014, she finished her jumpers title with 3 clean runs and has started competing in Standard, FAST, and Time to Beat agility too. Mostly, we just like to have fun, and that’s easy to do with Scarlett.
